You're right for the Bartolini pick-ups. You can ear my fretless on 3 MP3 files of my band : [link] Our cover "Enjoy the silence" has the most "fretless" bass sound. At home, I use to play even more with my "fretless sound" with an incredible growling sound and long sustain. That's realy my fetish bass instrument ;-) It was custom made by an english artisan name Jon Shuker. That's a very nice looking and sounding instrument.
